Overview

The Welder position involves performing x-ray quality welding using SMAW and GTAW processes on various materials. Candidates must have the ability to read and understand blueprints and isometric drawings, as well as conduct field measurements and modifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform x-ray quality welding in all positions with SMAW and GTAW processes.
• Weld piping, structural steel, and supports.
• Verify fit-ups and dimensions.
• Conduct field measurements and fabricate or modify piping per sketches and blueprints.
• Set up jobs, string welding leads, and build fireboxes in preparation for welding.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of isometric drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to read and understand WPS/PQR documents.
• Mathematical skills relevant to work tasks.
• Able to pass the appropriate weld tests.
• Basic rigging knowledge associated with moving piping details and fittings.
• Experience welding in confined spaces and awkward positions.
