Overview

Swissport is a global leader in aviation services, providing Ground Handling, Cargo Handling, and Passenger Services to over 300 million passengers annually. The ORD GSE Mechanic is responsible for the service and maintenance of Ground Service Equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with local laws.

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive all types of GSE equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on ground support equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting and diagnostic assessment of equipment.
• Learn hydraulic systems as required.
• Report to work during snow, ice, and cold weather.
• Remove malfunctioning equipment from service until repaired.
• Respond to emergency service calls and accidents.
• Complete maintenance documentation as required.
• Comply with all security requirements.
• Maintain a clean and serviceable GSE shop.
• Fuel equipment while adhering to safety requirements.
• Liaison with Ramp management and customers professionally.
• Work as a self-starter and report to shop leads daily.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Trade school training or mechanical background preferred.
• Good oral and verbal communication skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Willing to clean and maintain a safe workshop.
• Willing to travel for training or assist other stations as needed.

Additional Information
