Overview

Southern Cross is actively hiring motivated individuals for the Gas Distribution Services (GDS) Team supporting Con Edison operations throughout New York City and surrounding areas. Responsibilities

• Support gas distribution operations and public safety efforts.
• Perform gas leak investigations and response work.
• Conduct service line inspections.
• Install natural gas detectors.
• Perform integrity testing and gas relights.
• Carry out minor gas repairs and follow-up work.
• Conduct compliance inspections and documentation.
• Engage in customer interaction and safety education.
• Provide field support for Con Edison gas operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work in active field environments.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Teams, etc.).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and safely.

Additional Information

• $27/hour for fully qualified candidates.
• $23/hour for candidates with related experience.
• Company vehicle provided.
• Monday–Friday schedule with rotating shifts and occasional weekends.
