Overview
As a Trailer Mechanic at XPO, you will perform maintenance and repairs on trailing equipment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. XPO is a top ten global provider of transportation services, seeking employees who thrive on challenges and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on trailing equipment.
- Access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance.
- Repair or rebuild all or part of equipment systems.
- Abide by DOT, EPA, OSHA and other rules and regulations.
- Maintain proficiency in equipment and technologies.
- Move trailers throughout the property and operate a hostler.
- Enter job times and parts on repair orders.
- Operate specialized tooling and vehicles.
- Ensure the work area is clean, safe, and organized.
- Interact with operations and shop management.
Requirements
- 1 year of verifiable experience in heavy-duty maintenance or entry-level Technician role.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Able to perform safety inspections of equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Available to work a variety of shifts.
- Brake inspection qualified per FMCSA regulations.
- Vehicle Inspection qualified per FMCSA regulations.
- Basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent work-related or military experience (preferred).
- Prior mechanical experience such as automotive or skilled trades (preferred).
- Diesel tech school diploma (preferred).
- Previous or current ASE certifications (preferred).
- Basic welding skills (preferred).

Additional Information
- $1/hour increase for 2nd shift, 3:00pm-11:30pm, Monday - Friday.
- Tool allowance of $400 per quarter.
