Overview

Americold is a global leader in temperature-controlled logistics, connecting producers, processors, distributors, and retailers to ensure food safety and accessibility. They are seeking a Mechanic for Tractor Trailers to perform maintenance and repairs, contributing to their mission of feeding the world.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Conduct basic diagnostics to identify issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Collaborate with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Document all maintenance performed accurately, both in writing and electronically.
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and document findings.
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Specialize in repairing major components such as engines and transmissions.
• Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-4 years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance required.
• One year of vehicle maintenance experience or a vehicle maintenance certificate from an accredited trade school.
• Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing engines, power trains, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and brake systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Mathematical and documentation skills necessary.
• Ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts, including on call.
