Overview
The Tool Crib Attendant supports manufacturing by improving efficiency and throughput, managing machine shop tool crib needs, and maintaining optimal tooling for CNC machines.
Responsibilities
- Grind, sharpen and set the various tools required for use on the CNC machines.
- Maintain tooling in optimal operational conditions.
- Order tools as requested to maintain operational execution.
- Restock new and used tooling and fixturing in its proper inventoried locations.
- Assist operators and programmers to develop and maintain optimal tooling plans.
- Keep area clean and organized in accordance with industry standard 5S guidelines.
- Issue tools to machinists and maintain records.
- Keep broken carbide secure for recycling and crush chip bins as needed.
- Breakdown extra tools and remove extra tools from the machine racks daily with efficiency, safely and organized.
- Determine if a variety of cutting tools still have machine life remaining.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Five years related industry experience.
- Three or more years AS9100 experience in Aerospace or Defense preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Detail knowledge of tooling for CNC machines.
- Capable of taking direction with little supervision.
- Knowledge of tool setting equipment.
- Knowledge of heat shrink equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook).
Additional Information
- This is a full-time position.
- Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
