Job Description

Overview

As a Plant Mechanic at Banner Boswell Medical Center, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for patients and clinical staff by repairing and maintaining essential hospital infrastructure. This position is part of a dedicated Facility Operations team that ensures the hospital's utilities and systems are functioning optimally.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain power plant and facility utilities equipment and systems.
  • Repair steam/hot water boilers, chillers, and cooling towers.
  • Maintain all pumped systems including chilled water, domestic hot and cold water, and sewage ejector.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties on plant equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain detailed logs on all required facility equipment and shift activity.
  • Respond to general maintenance and emergency calls as required.
  • Assist as a member of the Fire Response Team.
  • Clean work areas and maintain tools and storage in an orderly manner.
  • Drive company vehicles to transport equipment and personnel as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge, plus vocational or technical training.
  • 1 year of experience as a Plant Mechanic with basic to intermediate skills in plant operations.
  • Working knowledge of utility and infrastructure systems common to healthcare.
  • Current Boiler Operator’s License if required by state.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding maintenance and construction documents.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with plant computer software programs.

Additional Information

  • Work schedule includes nights: Monday - Friday from 10PM to 6:30AM with an 18% night shift differential, and days: Sunday - Thursday from 6AM to 2:30PM.
  • $5,000 sign-on bonus available.
