Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated TIG Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding tasks using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) techniques to create high-quality metal assemblies, contributing to the successful completion of diverse projects while ensuring adherence to safety standards and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding on various metals, including sheet metal, pipe, and structural components, following detailed blueprints and schematics.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols accurately to ensure precise fabrication.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement devices to verify dimensions and quality of welds.
  • Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and fitting components prior to welding using plasma cutters, press brake machines, or other fabrication equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to OSHA standards and company safety protocols during all welding operations.
  • Conduct inspections of welds using non-destructive testing methods when necessary; document findings for quality assurance purposes.
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly, rigging, machining, and installation tasks related to construction or manufacturing projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in TIG welding across various metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, or specialty alloys.
  • Strong background in construction site environments with knowledge of site safety procedures and rigging techniques.
  • Familiarity with MIG welding (Metal Inert Gas) and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) processes is desirable.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; knowledge of ASME codes & standards is advantageous.
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations; experience with pipe threading and assembly is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience operating fabrication equipment such as press brakes, plasma cutters, power tools, forklifts, and machining tools.
  • Knowledge of ductwork fabrication, sheet metal work, soldering, plasma cutting techniques, and assembly processes in manufacturing or construction settings.
  • Bilingual a plus.
