Overview
UT Southwestern is seeking an experienced Fleet Motor Vehicle Mechanic to join their Fleet Maintenance team in Dallas, Texas. The organization is committed to excellence and offers a competitive benefits package to support employee wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet including shuttle buses, passenger vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, and specialized equipment.
- Conduct diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning systems.
- Maintain, service, and repair air and water cooled engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle components.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as required.
- Repair vehicles and equipment in off-site emergencies as needed.
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment and keep work area in neat and orderly condition.
- May provide working supervision to semi-skilled workers of lower grade.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, vocational school, or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive repairs.
- Active EPA Section 609 Certification and Texas Motor Vehicle Inspector License within 90 days.
- ASE certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility in work hours.

Additional Information
- Work Location: Dallas Campus; assist other UTSW locations as needed.
- Shift Requirement: Day shift position; Monday through Friday, hours can range from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
