Overview

UT Southwestern is seeking an experienced Fleet Motor Vehicle Mechanic to join their Fleet Maintenance team in Dallas, Texas. The organization is committed to excellence and offers a competitive benefits package to support employee wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet including shuttle buses, passenger vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, and specialized equipment.
  • Conduct diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning systems.
  • Maintain, service, and repair air and water cooled engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle components.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as required.
  • Repair vehicles and equipment in off-site emergencies as needed.
  • Maintain and clean tools and equipment and keep work area in neat and orderly condition.
  • May provide working supervision to semi-skilled workers of lower grade.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, vocational school, or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive repairs.
  • Active EPA Section 609 Certification and Texas Motor Vehicle Inspector License within 90 days.
  • ASE certification is strongly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in work hours.

Additional Information

  • Work Location: Dallas Campus; assist other UTSW locations as needed.
  • Shift Requirement: Day shift position; Monday through Friday, hours can range from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
