Overview
The Department of Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Repairman 2 to perform repair and maintenance work on structures, bridges, equipment, and machinery in Bucks County, contributing to public safety. This role offers practical skill application and the opportunity to work with a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs on bridges, culverts, and other roadway structures using carpentry, welding, and masonry skills.
- Operate construction tools and machines such as welders, saws, compressors, drills, and forklifts.
- Carry out carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks to update and maintain buildings, offices, and fixtures.
- Inspect and make minor adjustments to HVAC systems in maintenance sheds.
- Follow all safety procedures, participate in training, and report unsafe conditions.
- Guide semi-skilled workers and maintain communication with supervisors and coworkers.
Requirements
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or equivalent.
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
Additional Information
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work hours are subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
- No telework option available.
- Starting annual salary of $40,685 before taxes.
