Overview

The Maintenance Technician III supports FedEx's industrial maintenance of material handling systems, focusing on preventative and predictive maintenance and repair. This role requires proficiency in mechanical power transmission, electrical systems, PLC/controls, welding/fabrication, and troubleshooting component and system issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of material handling systems.
  • Adhere to safety standards and promote a safe work environment.
  • Interpret electrical or mechanical schematics and manufacturer’s manuals to troubleshoot and repair system faults.
  • Respond to sort calls to diagnose problems and make repairs.
  • Utilize Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software to manage data.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC/controls failures.
  • Assist lower level technicians and develop scopes of work for small projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certificates in Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics, electrical or mechanical trade preferred.
  • Four years of experience in Industrial Maintenance with proficiency in mechanical power transmission and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC/Controls and welding/fabrication skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and interpret schematics.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Software skills including Microsoft Office suite.

Additional Information

  • May be required to work a flexible schedule including all days and shifts.
  • Will need to use hand tools and possibly power tools.
  • May be working in hot or cold temperatures.
