Overview

The Orbital Welder is responsible for manufacturing and preparing high purity stainless steel gas and fluid handling assemblies using Orbital and TIG weld methods. This role requires adherence to customer and internal specifications while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate components using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, face, tack and weld parts.
  • Perform orbital welds using ARC machines 207 power supply or equivalent.
  • Understand and utilize leak detection equipment and tube preparation methods.
  • Ensure compliance with Industry Welding and Fabrication Standards.
  • Train junior technicians on current industry welding standards.
  • Work with production management and QA/QC to develop system procedures.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop required weld and fabrication support documentation.
  • Assist the manufacturing team with system construction and troubleshooting.
  • Interface with third party partners including engineering resources and material suppliers.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent; post HS education and/or training preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or advanced training.
  • Previous Orbital Welding/TIG welding experience.
  • Current weld certification or ability to re-certify.
  • Strong mechanical skills and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and weldment drawings.
  • Experience with measuring, hand & power tools, and welding equipment.
