The Technician, Welder role involves ensuring safe and efficient work practices while performing maintenance and welding tasks in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring safe and efficient work practices.
  • Following and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Performing daily maintenance by welding, cutting, reading drawings, layout, bolting, and repairing different types of static equipment.
  • Welding, fabrication, and installation of piping and piping components.
  • Performing maintenance and overhauls on equipment.
  • Performing pipe fitter welding work including major overhauls of equipment.
  • Repairing heat exchangers, tanks, screws, elevators, plant structures, and boilers.
  • Evaluating possible hazards and creating plans to perform all work safely.
  • Acting with a high degree of integrity and ownership.
  • Excelling in a team environment while also being a self-starter.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Understanding and complying with standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Comprehending all maintenance practices and continuous improvement concepts.

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of grade 12 education or GED equivalent.
  • Technical Degree or vocational training in Welding is preferred.
  • 2+ years of maintenance/welding experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to qualify to ASME B&PV Code Section IX for welding carbon and stainless-steel pipe in all positions using SMAW and GTAW.
  • Possess basic computer skills; SAP experience considered a plus.
  • Training and experience operating mobile equipment including forklifts, man lifts, carry deck cranes, scissor lifts, etc.
  • Experience with hydro testing of pressure equipment.
