Responsibilities

• Operate TIG, MIG, and Oxy Acetylene welding equipment.
• Use common shop tools such as grinders, sanders, and hydraulic straightening equipment.
• Read and understand engineering drawings.
• Use measuring equipment like tape measures and framing squares.
• Cut stock for simple welded assemblies using shop measuring equipment.
• Fabricate simple miscellaneous welded assemblies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and ensure proper handling of tools and equipment.
• Conform to departmental safety requirements.

Requirements

• Novice welder with capability in TIG, MIG, and Oxy Acetylene welding.
• Moderate capability for reading and understanding engineering drawings.
• Moderate capability for using measuring equipment.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding position.
• Ability to distinguish between colors.
• Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
