Overview
Integrity Trade Services is hiring a TIG Welder for an aerospace client to start immediately, offering up to $35/hr based on experience. This position is a direct hire opportunity with comprehensive benefits provided upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication work on aircraft engine components according to engineering and process routing instructions.
- Support a strong safety culture at all times.
- TIG weld or torch braze thin-wall tubes, ducts, manifolds, and related tubular products to aerospace quality standards.
- Fabricate parts and interpret blueprints, drawings, testing procedures, and assembly instructions.
- Work with tight-tolerance components using precision measuring tools.
- Set up work in jigs and fixtures as needed.
- Cold work tubes, ducts, and manifolds to meet check fixture requirements.
- Interpret routings and operation sheets to determine the most efficient repair approach.
- Operate orbital weld equipment.
- Clean, pressure test, bead blast, polish, and blend product as assigned.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure finished products meet quality standards.
- Properly label, store, and dispose of hazardous materials.
- Perform other work assignments as directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass FAA drug screening and background check.
- Experience welding thin-wall stainless steel or nickel alloys.
- Ability to work with aerospace welding standards and/or thin metal fabrication.
- Ability to be certified to NADCAP requirements and AWS D17.1 standards.
- Ability to certify as a CWI under AWS QC1 and B5.2, or willingness to work toward certification.
- Experience in torch brazing, or ability to be trained.
- Strong basic math skills and blueprint interpretation ability.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and leadership potential.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Aerospace or defense industry experience (preferred).
- FAA A&P certificate (preferred).
- Current or prior AWS D17.1 certification (preferred).
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using hand tools.
