Overview

At Wabash, Welders play a crucial role in manufacturing carbon, stainless steel, and aluminum products and subassemblies, ensuring high-quality work while adhering to production standards. The position requires passing weld tests and may involve attending in-house training if initial tests are not passed.

Responsibilities

  • Own and help improve performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery.
  • Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to meet quality standards.
  • Read engineering prints and weld symbols, and follow specifications.
  • Conduct basic operator preventative maintenance for welding equipment.
  • Maneuver in tight and small spaces.
  • Work at heights of 15-20 ft.
  • Assist in different departments as assigned by the supervisor or team leader.
  • Wear approved personal protective equipment.
  • Complete assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must pass weld tests associated with the product line prior to welding in production.
  • Must pass respirator fit test.
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and verbal skills.
  • Capable of following and understanding engineering prints, specifications, and instructions.
