Overview

The Welder I - MIG - B-Shift position involves welding and joining stainless and aluminum materials using MIG/TIG techniques, with a strong emphasis on quality control and safety. The ideal candidate should have a steady hand, attention to detail, and knowledge of different metals.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to play layout and procedures.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications.
  • Weld components together to fabricate products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using a variety of welding equipment.
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
  • Align components using tape measure and clamp pieces together.
  • Weld components in various positions (vertical, horizontal, and overhead).
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

Requirements

  • Competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions.
  • Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.
  • Effective communication skills in written and spoken form.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Good decision making and analytical problem solving abilities.
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.

Additional Information

  • Lift up to 50lbs.
  • Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
  • Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
