Overview

Prestige Metal Products, Inc. is seeking a Precision Sheet Metal Cost Estimator to build accurate cost estimates and customer quotations for various metal fabrication projects. The company has over 70 years of experience in producing precision metal components for diverse industries.

Responsibilities

• Build accurate cost estimates and customer quotations from prints, 3D models, and specifications.
• Break down total cost: materials, labor, machining, welding, finishing, tooling, and outside services.
• Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, BOMs, and customer requirements with minimal oversight.
• Partner closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and management to validate methods and pricing.
• Interface directly with customers on RFQs, revisions, timing, and technical clarifications.
• Recommend manufacturing approaches that reduce cost while maintaining quality.
• Maintain organized quote records and help refine estimating processes.
• Prioritize incoming RFQs to meet agreed turnaround targets.

Requirements

• 5+ years estimating within sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, or metal manufacturing.
• Hands-on understanding of laser cutting, punching/stamping, forming/press brakes, welding/fabrication, machining, assembly, and finishing.
• Fluency reading engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Proven experience pricing stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel projects.
• Strong math and analytical aptitude with high attention to detail and urgency.
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
