Overview

The Manufacturing Manager (U.S.) is a skilled tradesperson specializing in welding and metal fabrication, leading Plum’s fabrication shop in Odessa, TX. This role oversees shop operations for natural gas and automated diesel fueling equipment, ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily manufacturing and repair & maintenance activities, including fabrication, assembly, and testing of equipment.
  • Manage production and maintenance schedules to ensure timely delivery of equipment and meet project deadlines.
  • Responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining inventory for Plum’s Odessa shop.
  • Optimize workflow, labor utilization, and equipment use to maximize efficiency and output.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and blueprints to determine project specifications.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, supply chain, and field operations teams to ensure alignment throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure all equipment meets company, customer, and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, pressure vessel standards, safety regulations).
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain product integrity and operational excellence.
  • Design and fabricate equipment and parts for meeting special or unusual needs.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and smooth metal using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
  • Join metal components using various welding techniques and tools including mig-welder, tig-welder, plasma cutter, arc welder, chop saw, and oxyacetylene torch.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Oversee maintenance, calibration, and upkeep of manufacturing equipment, tools, and facilities.
  • Ensure proper inventory management of raw materials and components required for production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or vocational training in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Equivalent hands-on experience in oil & gas or industrial equipment manufacturing or operations may be considered.
