Overview

A local grading company is hiring a full-time Heavy Equipment-Construction Mechanic to assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of gas/diesel equipment in the shop and field. This position will support the entire fleet of construction equipment and trucks, requiring travel to various job sites for repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance on various equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines.
  • Weld using MIG, TIG, and Stick methods.
  • Determine necessary parts and tools for repairs.
  • Complete shop paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Welding abilities (MIG/TIG stick welder).
  • CNC Plasma Experience (a plus).
  • Post-secondary certificate or degree in engineering OR training as a mechanic (a plus).
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair.
  • Welding experience (a plus).
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Valid AZ driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Valid US work Authorization documents for E-Verify.
  • CDL License (a plus).
