Responsibilities
- Complete welding jobs on various structures while maintaining high standards.
- Correctly design, cut, shape, and weld pieces of metal together.
- Prepare materials for welding by fabricating, manufacturing, grinding, and cleaning metal.
- Utilize fabrication skills to complete all phases of fabrication.
- Follow blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output.
- Provide feedback and input into the fabrication process regarding assembly order, design, materials, fixtures, and jigs.
- Note and mark up customer blueprints for future reference.
- Conceptualize and make fixtures.
- Ensure correct documentation and processes are followed for standardized work.
- Produce accurate work that is of high quality.
- Inspect and test welds and equipment to ensure safety and strength.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Mid-level to experienced in welding/fabrication, including TIG, MIG, ARC, and dual-shield welding.
- Stainless TIG experience desired.
- Pipe welding experience desired.
- Familiar with common welding tools and procedures.
- Blueprint reading and knowledge of common welding symbols and specifications.
- High school diploma preferred, but no formal qualification is required.
- Welding certification or completed courses in welding techniques is a plus.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting at least 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of industry safety practices.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong basic math skills and high mechanical aptitude.
- Must be willing to submit to background and drug screening.
