Overview

Hester Fabrication specializes in complex technical fabrication for advanced industries, focusing on high precision weldments. The Advanced Welder will read shop drawings, plan fabrication, and fabricate welded components using a variety of tools.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand shop drawings.
• Plan fabrication and fabricate welded components per the shop drawing.
• Perform accurate layout of plates, holes, bends, etc.
• Use layout tools like scribes, squares, tapes, protractors, and levels.
• Meet Hester’s welding standards and set up the machine.
• Diagnose problems and make high-quality welds.
• Estimate fabrication durations and consistently meet goals.
• Plan and sequence work with the shop manager.

Requirements

• Advanced MIG welding skills (75%) and TIG welding skills (25%).
• Expert at interpreting shop drawings to make parts.
• Skilled in using layout tools.
• Ability to meet welding standards and high-quality production.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques.
