Overview

The Sheetmetal Welder - Construction position involves planning, coordinating, and supervising welding activities on projects while leading a team of welders. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all welding activities on assigned projects.
  • Lead and manage a team of welders, providing guidance and training.
  • Monitor and inspect welds to ensure they meet industry standards.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and conduct regular safety meetings.
  • Allocate and manage resources to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients for seamless project execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including logs and reports.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts during the project.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in welding, with a strong background in industrial Sheetmetal.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in plumbing is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in welding and safety (e.g., AWS, OSHA) are highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and installation techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in varying heat and cold conditions with high noise levels.
