Overview
The SSVT Aluminum Welder position at Hitachi Energy involves welding tank plates, sheets, tubes, and other components using ARC, MIG, and TIG methods under minimal supervision. The role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques and the ability to maintain quality and compliance with specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform ARC, MIG, and TIG welding of tank plates, sheets, tubes, radiators, inserts, and fittings of various sizes.
- Set up and operate hand and machine acetylene burning equipment.
- Perform brazing and aluminum welding on transformer conductors and assemblies.
- Check tanks for leaks and ensure compliance with prints before welding.
- Remove weld splatter and clean tanks and parts.
- Weld neatly with uniform penetration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong work ethic and excellent attendance.
- Ability to read a tape measure and a working understanding of math.
- Knowledge of distortion effects of welding heat.
- Forklift certified and trained in crane and hoist operation.
- Ability to perform vertical, horizontal, and overhead welding.
- Pulmonary function test required.
