Overview

The SSVT Aluminum Welder position at Hitachi Energy involves welding tank plates, sheets, tubes, and other components using ARC, MIG, and TIG methods under minimal supervision. The role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques and the ability to maintain quality and compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform ARC, MIG, and TIG welding of tank plates, sheets, tubes, radiators, inserts, and fittings of various sizes.
• Set up and operate hand and machine acetylene burning equipment.
• Perform brazing and aluminum welding on transformer conductors and assemblies.
• Check tanks for leaks and ensure compliance with prints before welding.
• Remove weld splatter and clean tanks and parts.
• Weld neatly with uniform penetration.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong work ethic and excellent attendance.
• Ability to read a tape measure and a working understanding of math.
• Knowledge of distortion effects of welding heat.
• Forklift certified and trained in crane and hoist operation.
• Ability to perform vertical, horizontal, and overhead welding.
• Pulmonary function test required.
