Overview
A Millwright will install, assemble, dismantle, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery to specifications. The position requires a well-rounded individual with experience in millwright, pipefitting, and boilermaking, transitioning from a day shift to shift work.
Responsibilities
- Work with high complex precision machines including ball mills, ID fans, turbines, and pumps.
- Plan, inspect, verify and document scope of work.
- Use precision leveling and alignment tools to measure angles and material thickness.
- Fit bearings, align gears and wheels, and connect belts according to blueprints.
- Dismantle machines using hand tools.
- Assemble and install equipment such as shafting and conveyors.
- Operate engine lathes, grinders, and files.
- Conduct preventative maintenance such as lubrication and repair of worn parts.
- Follow direction from supervisor and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience.
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and layout tools.
- Understanding of load properties of cables, ropes, hoists, and chains.
- Ability to use certified hand signals.
- Good problem-solving abilities and manual dexterity.
- Knowledge of math concepts, geometry, and layout.
- Ability to lead others and provide detailed instructions.
- Good reading comprehension and communication skills.
- Must have experience with industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Must know how to read blueprints and technical manuals.
- Minimum 4-5 years industrial construction/maintenance experience.
- Minimum of 3 years Millwright experience in Power Generation Plants.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work 7 days as needed.
Additional Information
- Position will start as a day shift but will transition to shift work.
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license and pass a DISA background check, drug test, and breath alcohol test.
