Overview

Whirlwind Steel is a premier metal building manufacturer specializing in the design, fabrication, and delivery of top-quality metal structures. The Structural Fabrication Technician is responsible for fitting, assembling, and preparing steel components for production, ensuring accuracy and safety in the fabrication process.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Measure, mark, and prepare materials for fabrication.
• Align and fit steel components using hand tools and shop equipment.
• Operate fabrication tools, torches, and welding equipment as needed.
• Tack weld parts together when required.
• Clean and prepare materials for assembly.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Meet daily production and quality goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year fabrication, fitting, or welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
