Overview
Hydro, Inc. is a global, industrial pump reengineering company headquartered in Chicago, providing engineering expertise, pump repair, and support services since 1969. The Pump Mechanic on the 2nd Shift is responsible for the assembly, disassembly, and reassembly of rotating type equipment, mainly horizontal and vertical pumps.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and rebuild large pumps of all types.
- Interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Construct foundations for pump assembly and disassembly.
- Operate manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools.
- Utilize M&TE (micrometers, calipers, etc.) for equipment inspection.
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience as a pump mechanic or in a similar role.
- Competency with hand tools, including wrenches and impact guns.
- Ability to use an overhead crane.
- Strong oral and written expression and comprehension.
- Manual dexterity and control precision.
- Critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
