Overview
Fisher Industries is a family of businesses involved in aggregate production and heavy civil construction. The Hot Plant Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment within an asphalt plant, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Responsibilities
- Change gearboxes and work on conveyor belts, bearings, and rollers.
- Diagnose, repair, and rebuild asphalt plant and crusher systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
- Weld, cut, and fabricate metal parts for plant equipment.
- Ensure a safe work environment by complying with all safety policies and procedures, including OSHA/MSHA regulations.
- Troubleshoot plant operational problems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks like lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of equipment.
- Identify and resolve mechanical and operational issues with plant equipment.
- Maintain plant files and records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have own tools including wrenches, ratchet & sockets, impact, grinder, and welding hood & gloves.
- Previous crushing plant maintenance experience.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
- Experience with stick welding, fabricating various materials, and using a cutting torch.
- General knowledge of hot mix asphalt business and operations.
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
- Requires lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with other plant personnel.
- Ability to input data into computer systems for production and maintenance activities.
- Valid Driver's License and an acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy.
- May require two weeks working out of town.

- This position is for the Queen Creek, AZ location but may also work in Florence, AZ.
