Overview

Versant Health is a leading administrator of managed vision care, dedicated to helping members enjoy healthy eyes and vision. The Lab Mechanic position involves maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure optimal operation in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and monitor equipment process parameters for predictive and preventive maintenance.
  • Enter data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Monitor inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring timely orders.
  • Operate computers and maintenance diagnostic equipment.
  • Diagnose failures and perform repairs on production equipment.
  • Communicate and escalate equipment issues with peers and management.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and the facility.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Comply with Quality Management System (QMS) and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical drawings, wire diagrams, and schematics.
  • Experience operating facility equipment to fabricate, cut, and repair machine parts.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools.
  • Basic understanding of electronic control panels and related systems.
  • Basic knowledge of precision alignment and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and correspondence.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Adhere to OSHA safety requirements and PPE compliance.

Additional Information

  • Work schedule is Wednesday to Saturday, 5am to 3:30pm.
  • Hourly rate is $23.20.
