Overview

As a Field Decommission Technician at Sunbelt Solomon, you’ll be involved in safely dismantling and processing electrical equipment at customer sites nationwide. This hands-on role is suited for mechanically skilled professionals who prioritize safety and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and remove equipment, materials, and infrastructure from operational sites using hand tools, pneumatic tools, plasma cutters, and AO equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery—including excavators and telehandlers—safely and efficiently.
• Work in demanding environments and extended shifts while maintaining professionalism and productivity.
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures, including spill-containment protocols and incident reporting.
• Complete assigned work orders and documentation accurately and on time.
• Travel up to 80% of the time, including frequent overnights.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
• Strong mechanical background with experience working under deadlines.
• Ability to operate or learn excavators, telehandlers, and similar equipment.
• Proficiency with hand, electric, and pneumatic tools; torch/rigging experience helpful.
• Physical ability to perform strenuous labor and work in varied environmental conditions.
• Commitment to strict safety and environmental compliance.
