Overview

The Groundman - Underground position in Marietta, GA is an entry-level role focused on the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical underground distribution systems. This position is available to military-affiliated job seekers and requires a willingness to work on-site and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on energized and de-energized underground systems.
• Set pad mount transformers.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Perform rigorous physical labor.
• Understand and use company radios.
• Use basic rigging and lineman knot tying.
• Identify primary and secondary voltage on circuits.
• Assist with installation and hookup of single phase transformers.
• Perform basic bucket rescue/escape.
• Work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Check voltage on transformers.
• Inspect rubber goods and PPE.
• Climb various structures and work in underground trenches.
• Identify materials used in line work.
• Work outside in inclement weather.
• Glove/work live high voltage distribution lines.

Requirements

• High School/GED required.
• No experience necessary.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days.
• A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime and outside normal hours.

• Position is on-site in Marietta, GA.
• May require travel to other states depending on customer demands.
