Overview

Bechtel is seeking a Superintendent - Welding to oversee field construction operations for the Rio Grande LNG project in Brownsville, Texas. The role involves supervising welding activities, ensuring compliance with specifications, and managing subcontractor performance to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct field construction operations within assigned discipline.
• Determine workforce requirements and coordinate operational plans.
• Schedule work and review accomplishments by each craft.
• Monitor work activities to ensure quality and compliance with design documents.
• Prepare reports on construction progress and forecasts.
• Monitor subcontractor activities for compliance with specifications and schedules.
• Implement corporate/project policies and procedures.
• Conduct employee reviews and identify training opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and standards.
• Participate in scheduled safety meetings.
• Implement Six Sigma tools and methodologies in duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 10 to 12 years industry experience in welding and welding supervision.
• Minimum of 3 years Bechtel experience for Welding Superintendent or 5 years for Lead Welding Superintendent.
• Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field welding activities.
• Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accident Philosophy.
• Familiarity with Project ES&H Handbook and Safety Management Plan.
• Proficient in Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
• Experience with subcontractors and Direct Hire workforce.
