Overview

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management and energy efficiency, is seeking a skilled Pipe Welder/Fitter for their New Freedom, PA location. This role offers an opportunity to work on meaningful projects while being part of a team that values craftsmanship, safety, and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and weld complex piping and pressure vessel components.
• Work from isometric drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and flow diagrams.
• Perform layout, fit-up, tack welding, and final welding to meet customer and code requirements.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment including scales, levels, torches, and welding machines.
• Conduct pressure testing and repairs on prototype and customer units.
• Support facility equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of welding and fabrication experience required.
• Ability to pass specific weld tests for carbon steel.
• Proficiency in pipe fitting, structural welding, blueprint reading, and fabrication equipment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of shop mathematics, welding codes, and specifications.
• Certified in required code welding qualifications.

Additional Information

• Location: New Freedom, PA
• Pay: $40.02 + $1,500 Sign-On Bonus
• Completion of a 120-day training program may be required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights over 12 feet.
