Overview

RQ Construction is seeking commercial Pipefitters to join their self-perform team for ongoing work at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia, with all work performed on the military base and compensated at the required Davis-Bacon prevailing wage.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and plan all piping systems on an active construction site.
• Ensure work is done in accordance with relevant codes.
• Apply technical pipefitting principles using appropriate equipment.
• Implement required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. is the minimal education required.
• 4 or more years of field or trade work experience as a journeyman-level pipefitter.
• Experience in government, military, or large commercial construction preferred.
• Mechanical Pipe Installation experience.
• Deep underground experience.
• Start-up and Energizing Experience with Boilers and Chillers.
• Valid Pipefitter license or journeyman card preferred.
• Current Welding certificate.
• CPR, First Aid, and OSHA-10 preferred, but training can be provided.
• Preference given to those with brazing or HDPE experience.
