Overview
The Pipefitter Craftsman 1 position involves laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment according to industry standards. The role requires intermediate experience and involves working in various construction environments.
Responsibilities
- Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate and install piping efficiently.
- Align, bolt, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products for welding.
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
- Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation according to plans.
- Distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
- Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
- Operate tools and equipment including beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall.
- Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
- Hydro test piping systems.
Requirements
- May require a high school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field.
- Must possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
- Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management/supervision.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
