Overview

Bollinger is seeking a Welding Quality Specialist to support the quality management systems by monitoring welding processes, evaluating performance, and implementing initiatives to optimize production across manufacturing and inspection environments while supporting the organization’s quality objectives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of the Operations Support Quality Group, promoting quality policy, objectives, and system directives through training and mentoring.
• Promote and support improvement and preventive action processes, including problem-solving techniques such as root cause analysis.
• Provide welding technology and NDT administration and support as needed.
• Assist in monitoring welding processes, evaluate performance data, develop process improvement initiatives, and implement welding technology.
• Deliver training in quality concepts and weld processes.
• Support internal audits to meet ISO 9001 requirements and perform program reviews to support Company initiatives.
• Perform technical writing to create or revise welding procedures and supporting documents.
• Complete other duties assigned or requested by Management.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of welding manufacturing experience in a shipyard or maritime environment and a bachelor’s degree, or six (6) years of welding manufacturing experience with an associate level technical degree.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is preferred.
• Working knowledge of NDT processes in a shipyard or maritime environment or NDT Level II certification required.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge in ASME, AWS, ABS, and/or related technical documents regarding welding practices/procedures.
• Knowledgeable of quality system concepts in accordance with established standards.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Basic knowledge in non-destructive testing or other testing methods.
• Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
