Overview

Veolia is a global leader in environmental services, specializing in water, energy, and waste management. The Welder I position involves fabricating metal components and performing MIG welding to support the company's mission of creating a more sustainable future.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Perform free-hand MIG welding.
  • Perform complex assembly of machines.
  • Perform machining to complete the welding task.
  • Assist in developing and building jigs and fixtures.
  • Use basic hand tools such as a tape measure, squares, drill, and grinder.
  • Access drawings on a computer using basic computer skills.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Coordinate activities with other job classifications.
  • Follow safe work practices and all environmental and health & safety policies.
  • Read and understand shop orders and bill of materials (BOMs).
  • Understand how the tools and materials replenishment system operates.
  • Understand the KanBan system.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Able to demonstrate a successful MIG weld.
  • Able to complete a fabrication sample.
  • Basic mathematical skills.

Additional Information

  • Working Hours - Monday through Friday 5:45am to 2:15pm.
