Overview
Veolia is a global leader in environmental services, specializing in water, energy, and waste management. The Welder I position involves fabricating metal components and performing MIG welding to support the company's mission of creating a more sustainable future.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Perform free-hand MIG welding.
- Perform complex assembly of machines.
- Perform machining to complete the welding task.
- Assist in developing and building jigs and fixtures.
- Use basic hand tools such as a tape measure, squares, drill, and grinder.
- Access drawings on a computer using basic computer skills.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Coordinate activities with other job classifications.
- Follow safe work practices and all environmental and health & safety policies.
- Read and understand shop orders and bill of materials (BOMs).
- Understand how the tools and materials replenishment system operates.
- Understand the KanBan system.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Able to demonstrate a successful MIG weld.
- Able to complete a fabrication sample.
- Basic mathematical skills.
