Overview

This position is located at a Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) medical facility or clinic in Long Beach, CA. The purpose of this position is to perform plumbing work that includes installing, maintaining, removing, cleaning, replacing, packing, and sealing effective parts of utility, supply, and disposal systems.

Responsibilities

• Completes the routing and placement of systems leading to the equipment and seats, hooks up, and tests the equipment.
• Operates power equipment and hand tools to install, maintain, and repair various lawn sprinkler systems.
• Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment.
• Plans and lays out the installation and modification of various lawn sprinkler systems.
• Maintains inventory of plumbing and sprinkler system parts and supplies.
• Works from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing and placement of systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality to perform the duties of this position is required.
• Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work.
• Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.

• Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 0700-1630
• Physical requirements include standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring positions.
