Overview

Veolia in North America is a leading environmental company, recognized as the largest private water operator and technology provider in the U.S. The Utility Worker position involves performing landscaping, operating construction equipment, and assisting in the maintenance and repair of water service equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment and drives utility vehicles for landscaping and lawn mowing.
• Conducts groundskeeping functions including brush cutting and debris removal.
• Performs fence installation and repairs, including measuring and marking fence lines.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs water mains, pipes, valves, and hydrants.
• Digs trenches for pipe installation and repairs, and performs related street repairs.
• Assists higher classification employees as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Some knowledge of procedures for repairing water mains and pipes.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must participate in emergency stand-by rotation and respond within forty-five minutes.
• Ability to operate a 90 Lbs. jackhammer and lift 50 Lbs.
