Overview

Targa Resources is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for ensuring the proper function of mechanical equipment such as engines, compressors, and pumps. The role offers opportunities for career progression and ongoing training within a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rounds and readings at compressor stations and processing plants.
  • Inspect vehicle work and various equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine startup/shutdown of field equipment.
  • Complete work/hot work permits and lockout/tagout documentation.
  • Create and complete work orders in Maximo.
  • Order parts and manage inventory for work completion.
  • Learn and understand Targa’s Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Optimize stations and units by reviewing compressor dashboards.
  • Plan and perform assignments safely using proper tools and precautions.
  • Collaborate with other departments for construction support.
  • Assist with training new technicians and handle environmental compliance tasks.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and perform general maintenance.
  • Utilize the TRUCE app for safe mobile device usage.
  • Field callouts and alarms as needed.
  • Be proficient in the use of precision tools.
  • Train and perform major maintenance tasks on engine components.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of Natural Gas Characteristics and Engine Operations.
  • Ability to work a 5/2 M-F OR a 7/7 rotation schedule.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to keep detailed records of maintenance activities.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments effectively.
  • Ensure company vehicle and tools are well-maintained.
  • Pay attention to detail for maintenance tasks.
  • Identify potential issues and address them promptly.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office and Maximo.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters and follow safety guidelines.

Additional Information

  • Employee must live in Midland or surrounding area or be open to relocating.
  • Work schedule includes a 7/7 rotation.
