Overview

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking Welders for an exciting project in Galveston, TX. The ideal candidate should have a strong structural and combo welding background with excellent welding techniques in large construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Execute welding tasks using appropriate techniques such as MIG, TIG, or Stick welding.
• Clean, prepare, and set up workpieces for welding, including grinding, cutting, and positioning metal components.
• Safely operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.
• Join metal components or parts together according to specifications provided in blueprints or work orders.
• Inspect welded joints visually and using measuring instruments to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use.
• Perform all other duties assigned by site leadership.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 Year of welding experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Welding and Stick Certification Required
• Welding Hood Required (Not Provided)
• Applicants are required to complete a welding qualification test during the application process.
• Knowledge of equipment safety processes
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and leadership within the team.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling of material weighing 50 lbs.
• Ability to squat, crawl and work in awkward positions and confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.
• Unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, visual acuity, depth, and color perception.
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Age 18+
