Overview

RTX is the world's largest aerospace and defense company, seeking a Brazer II for 2nd shift operations in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves soldering operations and testing to ensure product integrity in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform soldering operations using various hi-temp soldering equipment.
• Work with an induction soldering machine, hi-temp soldering irons, and acetylene torch.
• Conduct water leak tests and helium leak tests on sealed units.
• Rework units until they pass all leak tests.
• Perform basic electronic assembly hand soldering of electrical wires.
• Follow specific work instructions for a variety of units.
• Position parts in fixtures for brazing and hi-temp soldering.
• Set up equipment including induction solder machine and acetylene torch.
• Examine hi-temp joined areas for integrity.
• Grind off excess slag or spatter and clean parts using solvent.
• Maintain inventory control of all materials and chemicals used.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly according to EHS regulations.
• Operate sensor test rig for calibration and testing of sensors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience with solder and electromechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with schematics or blueprints.
• Computer skills for data lookup and entry.

Additional Information

• 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30pm to 11pm.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Position is onsite.
