Overview
As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing all position welding on products in accordance with code requirements and specifications. The role involves selecting appropriate welding procedures and techniques to ensure quality and safety while working with various metals.
Responsibilities
- Competency in welding processes
- Trained in hand tool, torch, and arc welding equipment
- Trained in laser, electron beam, and gas welding
- Follow welding safety guidelines
- Adhere to safety guidelines when cleaning tools and equipment
- Use work orders and blueprint layouts to complete work
- Proficiently layout and weld plates
- Read and follow the production schedule
- Safely operate jib and overhead cranes
- Work with little supervision
- Check welds to ensure they meet tolerances marked on the blueprint
- Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb for prolonged periods
- Improve weld processes
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and plasma cutting equipment
- Ability to work independently
- Detail-oriented and self-directed
