Overview

Cummings Electrical is hiring a Welder for their Integrated Manufacturing facility in Arlington, TX. The company designs and builds custom, integrated, modular systems for various projects, and is looking for a candidate to work in a fast-paced environment to help deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
• Connect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse as specified by engineer.
• Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jig or fixtures.
• Select torch, torch tip, filler rod, and flux according to welding chart specifications.
• Perform all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding.
• Move parts in and finished product out of welding area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents in various forms.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Ability to perform simple shop math and convert decimals to fractional equivalents.
• Must be eligible to legally work in the United States.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
