Overview
The Robotic Operator will perform basic robotic machine operations under the direction of the Robotic Welder Setup designee, ensuring safety and efficiency in the production process.
Responsibilities
- Identify the required piece parts and correctly load them into the welding fixture.
- Utilize the operator’s control panel to activate the welding programs.
- Remove completed weldments from the fixtures.
- Perform basic inspection of finished parts.
- Monitor the operator’s control panel for machine status and error messages.
- Perform secondary operations such as metal finishing, grinding, or filing.
- Communicate machine errors, delays, or workpiece defects to the Robotic Setup Operator.
- Meet daily production requirements.
- Maintain general housekeeping of the robotic welding cell.
Requirements
- High school or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- General knowledge of blueprint reading and weld symbols, work instructions, measuring tools, and metal finishing tools is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
- Ability to complete standardized written documentation and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate professionally in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to perform basic electronic tasks using computer software.
Additional Information
- The work environment is a modern production facility with heat and air conditioning.
- Required to stand up to 100% of the time.
- Occasionally required to reach at or above shoulder level, climb, or stand on an elevated step or ladder.
- Regularly required to lift up to 30 pounds and intermittently lift 30 to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally required to lift 50 to 70 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to operate equipment up to 15 feet in the air.
