Overview

In Des Moines, IA, we’re looking for a welder who turns drawings into durable reality—balancing precision, safety, and teamwork on every job.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and repair metal structures using MIG, TIG, and Stick techniques with consistent quality.
• Study blueprints and technical drawings to plan steps, verify fits, and meet tolerances.
• Evaluate welds and assemblies to ensure they meet standards and customer expectations.
• Set up, operate, and care for welding equipment; keep tools in peak condition.
• Collaborate across the team to keep schedules and budgets on target.
• Champion safety and housekeeping so the shop stays organized and incident-free.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide practical, timely repairs when challenges arise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional welding training a plus.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or construction welding role.
• Thorough understanding of welding processes, materials, and safe operations.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and complex blueprints.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving instincts.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach to work.
• Welding certification is preferred but not mandatory.
