Overview

The Heavy Equipment Field Welder & Mechanic is responsible for repairing, reconditioning, welding, fabricating, servicing, and preparing CAT and other Empire line allied machines and components for delivery. The role involves diagnosing malfunctions, working in adverse conditions, and providing training to helpers.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and failures.
  • Prepare inspection and appraisal reports.
  • Plan and control repair jobs based on client requirements.
  • Organize job sequences and coordinate with dispatchers.
  • Direct and coordinate the work of assigned helpers.
  • Repair, recondition, weld, fabricate, and maintain equipment.
  • Service and maintain equipment through preventive maintenance.
  • Operate welding equipment and perform various welding techniques.
  • Comply with safety policies and maintain good client relations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Current driver's license.
  • Minimum of 6 months related experience.
  • Completion of TRAIN test evaluation.
  • Proof of current valid CDL if required by position.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Demonstrated technical skill competence.
  • Knowledge of CAT machine components and systems.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
