Overview

WM is seeking an Assistant Heavy Equipment Mechanic who values a safe work environment and financial security. This role offers career progression, stability, and a commitment to employee well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the repair and adjustment of heavy equipment including bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, and front end loaders.
• Wash vehicles and equipment.
• Assist Senior Mechanics in project work.
• Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance as per site checklist.
• Complete paperwork and admin tasks such as work orders and P.M. checklists.
• Service and maintain other equipment such as light plants and welders.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Additional Information

• Work schedule is Monday – Friday from 5:30AM – 6:00PM with rotating Saturdays.
• Work location is a repair/maintenance shop at the MEDLEY FL Landfill site.
