Overview
As a Level II Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Weld Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting welds according to AWS/ASME codes and customer specifications, performing ultrasonic testing, and supporting production teams in resolving defects to maintain quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect welds to AWS/ASME codes and project specifications.
- Perform and document weld inspections, including ultrasonic testing (UT) examinations; interpret indications and report results.
- Review welding procedure specifications (WPS/PQR) and verify welder qualifications.
- Conduct and maintain inspection records, nonconformance reports (NCRs), and traceability documentation.
- Coordinate with production teams to resolve weld defects and support rework/repair activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Hands-on experience performing ultrasonic testing (UT) weld inspections across thicknesses from 11ga to 3 inch.
- Experience inspecting welds to AWS D1.1 standards.
- NDT Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach to access weld locations in tight or awkward positions.
- Ability to work in industrial conditions (noise, heat/cold, fumes) while wearing required PPE.
