Overview
The 1st Shift Maintenance Technician supports production operations by ensuring the optimal performance of manufacturing equipment through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Maintain company-owned machinery and equipment in proper working order.
- Perform on-call emergency repairs.
- Take control of breakdowns.
- Execute a plan for continued improvement of machine safety and general housekeeping.
- Work with crews to complete all preventative maintenance.
- Collaborate with machine operators to troubleshoot and determine root causes of mechanical issues.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and prioritize effectively.
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to resolve potential safety issues.
- Maintain organization and inventory of the maintenance shop and tools.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Electrical certification preferred.
- Experience in the corrugated packaging industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery.
- Ability to use shop tools and equipment, including drill press, grinders, welders, and oxy-acetylene torch.
- Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Fully computer literate with Microsoft environment.
